Lisa is a senior scientist and project manager with more than 20 years of experience conducting and managing environmental studies on the local, national, and international levels for clients in both the private and public sectors. The emphasis of her career has been on the effects of chemicals in the aquatic environment and their transfer through the food chain; her areas of expertise include environmental benefits analysis, ecological risk assessment (ERA), natural resource damage assessment (NRDA), toxicological testing procedures and protocols, sediment assessment and restoration, and issues related to ecotoxicology.

Lisa has particular expertise in managing complex multi-task/multi-stakeholder ERAs and NRDAs, facilitating negotiations in client-stakeholder interactions, and directing the oversight and review of sediment and water quality studies. Her approach focuses on developing risk management strategies that reduce potential exposure in a cost-effective manner, and she is skilled in synthesizing and reducing complex issues to the key elements required for project success. She has presented or taught courses in toxicology, ERA, environmental benefits analysis, environmental liability and asset management, and NRDA. In January 2017, she will offer a workshop on resolving NRD liabilities and avoiding common pitfalls in the resolution process.

When Lisa is not working, she is busy training and competing with her African Basenjis, enjoying her Chincoteague ponies, and helping with animal rescue/behavior training. She has even been to the Democratic Republic of Congo to acquire Basenjis from the villages! Lisa is an avid outdoors woman, hiking with her dogs, kayaking, and enjoying bird watching.
