Current openings:

Assistant Editor

Windward is seeking an assistant editor/technical writer. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of English grammar and excellent organizational, writing, and proofreading skills. In addition, candidates should be familiar with conventions and strategies for presenting detailed technical information to industry professionals as well as lay audiences. Tasks will include the writing, editing, updating, and/or proofreading of detailed technical manuals and reports and may involve the writing or updating of marketing materials. Candidates should have interest and experience in document editing. Environmental experience and/or familiarity with environmental terminology is preferred but not essential. Environmental Engineer

Windward is seeking a mid-level (2- to 5-years) environmental engineer with interest in multidisciplinary projects to join our dynamic and growing company. The applicant should also have the capability to manage small- to medium-sized projects, and to contribute to high quality work products in areas of site cleanup/restoration, stormwater management, sediment contamination source control, and site assessments. The candidate should have a working knowledge of relevant Federal/State regulations, and an interest in working for a full range of clients, including local, state, and federal government agencies, ports, and developers, and as a team member with other firms in the region on large multi-year projects. Experience with regulatory agencies, environmental organizations and special interest groups is also desirable.

Requirements: BS or higher and registration as a professional engineer. Registration in a state other than Washington and/or qualification as an EIT is acceptable if accompanied by a demonstrated plan to become a resident licensed engineer. Writing skills are a must; examples of written materials will be requested. Analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are also required along with the ability to multi-task and work cooperatively in a team framework. Natural Resource Economist

Windward is seeking a qualified individual with an MS or PhD and experience in natural resource economics. The succesful candidate will have completed human use valuations under the NRDA regulations, including evaluations for lost recreation uses of resources and well as commercial losses, such as groundwater.
