Ron is a natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) and restoration expert with more than 29 years of experience in government service and 7 in private practice. He is a proponent of coordinating remedial investigation, ecological risk assessment (ERA), NRDA, restoration planning, and project construction, and he has successfully combined NRDA at Superfund, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and state-lead sites, nationwide. Ron identifies common goals, builds consensus, and establishes trust among the invested parties through the transparent application of shared databases, geographic information systems, and other information visualization techniques.
Ron has been involved in cleanup and restoration efforts at more than 100 hazardous waste sites and chemical or oil spills. He has presented or taught courses in ERA, environmental benefits analysis, environmental liability and asset management, and NRDA. In addition, he provides technical support to clients involved in litigation regarding mining sites, petrochemical facilities, heavy industrial sites, and ports.
Out of the office, Ron spends much of his time playing with his dog, taking naps, and sampling brews from Seattle’s seemingly endless independent breweries (which often leads to more naps).
